What we collect, and why.
The short version: we collect basic visit statistics and whatever you email us, we use them to reply to you and improve the site, and we don't sell any of it.

What we collect
This site has no forms and no accounts. If you email us, we get what you choose to send: your name, your address and your message.
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where they come from. It sets cookies in your browser and collects things like the pages you view, your browser and device type, the site that referred you, and your approximate location, worked out from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 doesn't store IP addresses. Our hosting provider, Vercel, also measures how fast pages load (without cookies) and keeps standard server logs.
How we use it
We use your emails to reply to you. We use analytics to understand whether the site is useful and to keep it fast. We don't use either to advertise to you.
Who else handles it
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. Google provides our analytics and email, and Vercel hosts the site. Each handles information under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Emails stay in our inbox for as long as we're in conversation with you, and we delete them when you ask. Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months, after which it's deleted automatically.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to info@rivetmill.com. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics everywhere with Google's opt-out add-on. The site works the same without them.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over your information. We'll honor them when you contact us.
Children
This site is for businesses. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
